ROUTES

We have not really discussed routes this year. I know for financial reasons we shouldn't plan anything too extravagant. There was some talk of doing daily loops out of Corvallis and Vancouver this year with possible camping options within those areas. I have done some VERY preliminary work putting looping routes around the Bend Oregon area with camping at Tumalo State Park. There has been a lot of talk about doing part of Vancouver Island as well. BUT none of these are set in stone. Please post ideas here.

1) loops out of Corvallis (staying at the Gale Home)
2) loops out of Vancouver (staying at the Westerberg Home)
3) Tumalo State Park loops
4) Vancouver Island (requires passports)
5) Other??

  1. Any of these rides sound good to me, though I think the Vancouver Island ride is probably better off done next year to give people more time to get passports and such. Gene

  2. I'm thinking that too. Let's wait on Canada. Doing the San Juan Islands intrigues me. There are several shorter rides, in the 20-30 mile range, interspersed with ferry rides. We could stay at the state park on Orcas island and operate out of there.

  3. What about some of the other islands up in the sound? I know there is a fairly new state park that opened up recently that has good sized cabins with kitchenettes and that are on the beach. And pretty reasonable too. I'll find the info and post a link so you know where I'm talking about...
